Another One Bites The Dust

So I was just sitting here explaining why I thought David “Cheeno” Rheem would come from behind and take the bracelet.  At about that time, he went all-in with Ace King against Peter Eastgate’s Ace Queen.  Unfortunately, a Queen hit the flop and Cheeno’s Ace King wouldn’t improve.  Cheeno was just knocked out.

It’s about 5:20pm and there are now only 6 left at the final table.

Poker Drama at the WSOP 2008

So I spent most of the morning just about 30 feet from the final table taking lots and lots of pictures.  It’s difficult to keep track of the hands; most of the time I’m not certain which of players are involved.  For the most part it’s been pretty low-key.  Each player has their contingent of family, friends, and fans who cheer them on.

It’s now 3:00pm, and nobody has busted out yet.  That’s probably the most surprising thing for me today.  I expected a few people would have busted out by now.  I’ve watched as David “Chino” Rheem seems to have lost a few chips.  Dennis Phillips has taken a few losses as well, but overall they’re hanging in there.

BREAKING NEWS!

As I was writing this entry, two players just got knocked out:  Craig Marquis, and Kelly Kim.  Craig was first to get knocked out, followed by Kim on the very next hand.
