WSOP 2008 Final Table Update

It’s after midnight; Peter Eastgate and Ivan Demidov are battling for the bracelet and over 3 million dollars.  The first place winner will take home $9,152,416 and second place will win $5,809,595.  They’ve been playing for almost 2 hours, and Peter is in the lead with 86 million.  Ivan has 50 million.

There are several celebrities present:  Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Daniel Negraneau, Barry Greenstein, Jamie Gold, Chris Moneymaker, and the 2008 Player of the Year, Erick Lindgren, among others.

The drama has been intense.  Both players seem to be treading carefully around each other.

One of the more interesting hands happened with a large pot considering the hands involved.  At the end of the hand, Queen high won over Jack high.

The World Series of Poker Final Table

I know you’re probably thinking to yourself, how am I going to get updates from the final table of the World Series of Poker this year?  The TVT (The Vegas Tourist) crew is going to come through for you!  We are going to be there in person to cover the entire event, right through to the bracelet presentation!

For me personally, this is very exciting.  I’m going to be arriving in Las Vegas tomorrow morning (I still need to pack) where Mark and Sazzy will pick me up from the airport and we’ll go to the Rio where we’ll cover the event.  As much as possible, I’m going to try to use my tech savvy and live blog the event with lots of information and pictures, so keep your eyes on this blog!

As you know, this is the final table of the main event; the one everybody has been waiting for.  9 players remain (The November 9), who are going to battle for the money and prestige that goes with being a main event champion.

And we’ll be there to report on the event for you!

I’ll be taking quick pictures with my camera phone and uploading them to a public channel here (http://share.ovi.com/channel/theresamcclain.WSOP2008).  I’ll also have my digital SLR with me, so I’ll take much better pictures, but you’ll have to wait to see those until I get a chance to upload them to this blog and/or the TVT flickr account.  :)
